Fallout 4 Vault-Tec: All 4 Prototype Experiment Results & Rewards

July 26 saw Bethesda launch the latest Fallout 4 DLC called Vault-Tec Workshop on PC, PS4 and Xbox One. In this new expansion, you will be asked to choose an experimental prototype variation during the quests given by the Overseer Barstow of the Vault 88 and every prototype has different results and results. This guide tells you all 4 prototype experiment results and results you will come across in Vault-Tec Workshop DLC, including Power Cycle 1000, Soda Fountain, Phoropter and Slot Machine.

As mentioned before, there are 4 different experiments you can try and each has different parameters to select in the Vault-Tec expansion. Every experiment either offers your settlers happiness and cash bonuses or kill your dwellers. Once you made the choice, it cannot be changed unless you reload the previous save file.

 

1. Power Cycle 1000

1) Prototype [Generic]
Basic Requirements: 4 Steel, 3 Screws, 2 Rubber, 2 Copper
Prototype: Assign settlers to work on the Power Cycle to produce 2 Power (Only during daylight hours.)

 

2) Additional Power
Basic Requirements: 4 Steel, 3 Screws, 2 Rubber, 4 Copper
Results: Assign settlers to work on the Power Cycle to produce 4 Power (Only during daylight hours.)
WARNING: Sustained use will KILL SETTLERS.

 

3) Sustained Use
Basic Requirements: 4 Steel, 3 Screws, 2 Rubber, 2 Copper, 4 Buffout
Results: Assign settlers to work on the Power Cycle to produce 2 Power
WARNING: Sustained use will KILL SETTLERS.

 

4) Environment Enhancement
Basic Requirements: 4 Steel, 3 Screws, 2 Rubber, 2 Copper
Results: Assign settlers to work on the Power Cycle to produce 2 Power (Only during daylight hours.)


2. Soda Fountain

1) Prototype [Generic]
Basic Requirements: 6 Steel, 3 Glass
Results: Assign settlers to work on the Fountain — Requires 2 Power, Produces 5 Happiness

 

2) Appetite Suppressant
Basic Requirements: 6 Steel, 3 Glass
Results: Assign settlers to work on the Fountain — Requires 2 Power, Produces 1 Food

 

3) Mood Enhancement
Basic Requirements: 6 Steel, 3 Glass
Results: Assign settlers to work on the Fountain — Requires 2 Power, Produces  15 Happiness

 

4) Caffeinated
Basic Requirements: 4 Steel, 3 Screws, 2 Rubber, 2 Copper
Results: Assign settlers to work on the Power Cycle to produce 2 Power (Only during daylight hours.)

 

3. Phoropter

1) Prototype [Generic]
Basic Requirements: 4 Steel, 25 Nuclear materials, 3 Glass, 2 Aluminum
Results: Assign settlers to work on the Phoropter — Requires 3 Power, Produces 5 Happiness

 

2) Subliminal Messaging
Basic Requirements: 4 Steel, 5 Nuclear materials, 3 Glass, 2 Aluminum, 2 Circuitry
Results: Assign settlers to work on the Phoropter — Requires 3 Power, Produces 15 Happiness Unconfirmed, but may cause death following sustained usage. 

 

3) Vault Monitoring
Basic Requirements: 4 Steel, 25 Nuclear materials, 3 Glass, 2 Aluminum
Results: Assign settlers to work on the Phoropter — Requires 3 Power, Produces 5 Happiness

 

4) Eye Care
Basic Requirements: 4 Steel, 2 Nuclear materials, 3 Glass, 2 Aluminum
Results: Assign settlers to work on the Phoropter — Requires 3 Power, Produces 10 Happiness

 

4. Slot Machine

Prototype: Requires 1 Power, Produces 10 Happiness

 

2) Indentured Servitude
Basic Requirements: 4 Steel, 2 Screws, 3 Plastic, 2 Gears, 2 Circuitry
Results: Requires 1 Power, Produces 29 Caps Daily (Collect from the Workshop)

 

3) Profiling
Basic Requirements: 4 Steel, 2 Screws, 3 Plastic, 2 Gears, 2 Circuitry, 2 Glass
Results: Requires 1 Power, Produces 5 Happiness & 10 Caps (Intermittently)

 

4) Lost Revenue
Basic Requirements: 4 Steel, 2 Screws, 3 Plastic, 2 Gears, 2 Circuitry, 500 Bottlecaps
Results: Requires 1 Power, Produces 15 Happiness
